Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Career Progression Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Colchester
. This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA who is eager to progress
, develop leadership skills, and take the next step in their education career.

You will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with class teachers and senior leaders to deliver high-quality education and targeted interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering planned lessons and covering classes when required
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
  • Leading small group and intervention sessions
  • Supporting and mentoring teaching assistants where appropriate
  • Contributing to planning, assessment, and pupil progress
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leadership
We Are Looking For Someone Who
  • Holds HLTA status (or equivalent experience)
  • Has strong classroom management skills
  • Is ambitious and keen to progress within education
  • Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
