We are delighted to invite applications for the position of Teacher of French and Spanish at our school in Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Modern Foreign Languages specialist to join a thriving department and play a key role in delivering high‑quality language education.

As a Teacher of French and Spanish, you will:

• Deliver engaging and well‑structured lessons in French and Spanish across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
• Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
• Use a range of teaching strategies to promote active participation, progress, and enjoyment of language learning.
• Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Support students in developing linguistic skills as well as cultural awareness.
• Contribute to curriculum development within the MFL department.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom practice.
• Take part in enrichment activities, trips, or language‑related events where appropriate.

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Has strong subject knowledge in both French and Spanish.
• Is an effective and reflective classroom practitioner.
• Demonstrates excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Has high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
• Is committed to inclusive teaching and safeguarding practices.
