About the SchoolCompass Community School Essex is an independent secondary school for boys and girls Y7‑Y11 in North Essex. The RoleWe are all primarily teachers of children before teachers of subjects. Central to this role is knowing the child, building professional, nurturing and positive relationships and motivating students.
Responsibilities- Build professional, nurturing and positive relationships with students and motivate them.
- Plan, deliver and assess a curriculum that spans Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
- Maintain high aspirations for all students and support them throughout their learning journey.
- Manage complex and challenging behaviours with consistency, flexibility and a non‑judgemental approach.
- Participate in decision‑making that drives school outcomes and advocate for every child.
- Contribute to the academic curriculum and extra‑curricular offer, bringing personal interests and passions.
- English specialist with experience or ability to plan and deliver curriculum for Entry Level to GCSE.
- Current or willing to obtain the relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children who have SEMH needs and SEND such as Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.
- Therapeutic training and support experience is beneficial.
