Randstad Education is looking for a PMLD Learning Support Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist school team. This is a rewarding long-term opportunity to help students with complex needs thrive in an inclusive, state-of-the-art environment.

In this all-age setting, your role is pivotal in ensuring students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities have full access to their education. You will work across a variety of age groups, adapting your style to meet the developmental needs of each pupil.

• Learning & Engagement: Deliver adapted lessons and multi-sensory activities that focus on cognitive and physical progress.
• Personalised Care: Assist with all aspects of personal care, including toileting, dressing, and specialised feeding support.
• Physical Support: Confidently manage moving and handling requirements using hoists, slings, and standing frames.
• Communication Advocacy: Utilise Total Communication techniques, including Makaton, PECS, and sensory cues.
• Progress Tracking: Assist the Class Teacher in recording observations and tracking small-step progress against EHCP targets.

• Experience: Background in SEN, social care, or healthcare is a distinct advantage.
• Resilience: A calm, proactive approach to de-escalating situations and managing complex needs.
• Training: Valid Moving & Handling training is highly desirable (though refresher training can be provided).
• Compliance: Must hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
