Qualified SEND Teacher - Colchester

Location: Colchester, Essex

Pay Scale: £140 - £200 per day

Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term

Start Date: Immediate / Next Term

We are seeking a resilient, empathetic, and highly skilled Qualified Teacher (QTS) to join a dedicated SEND team in Colchester
.

This is an opportunity to work within a supportive environment catering to students with diverse needs, including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and complex learning difficulties. You will be responsible for delivering a highly differentiated curriculum that prioritises both academic progress and personal wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tailored Delivery: Plan and execute lessons that accommodate varying P-Levels and individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Holistic Support: Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and parents to ensure a 360-degree support system for every pupil.
  • Behavioural Leadership: Utilise positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe, productive learning space.
  • Assessment: Monitor and record small-step progress, celebrating every victory-no matter how small.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience working with SEND learners (special school or mainstream resource base).
  • A "child-first" mindset with the patience to adapt to changing classroom dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a small team of support staff.
