We are seeking a SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a vibrant educational community in Colchester
. This role is ideal for those dedicated to supporting students with additional needs to reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.

As an LSA, you will be the "bridge" between the student and the curriculum. You will provide essential classroom support, ensuring that students with diverse needs—including Autism (ASD),
ADHD
, and SEMH
—can access learning safely and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1:1 & Small Group Support: Deliver tailored interventions to help students grasp core subjects and develop social skills.
  • Emotional Regulation: Act as a calm presence, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to support students during challenging moments.
  • IEP Implementation: Work closely with the SENCO and Class Teacher to track progress against Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets.
  • Inclusive Environment: Adapt learning materials (e.g., using visual timetables or simplified worksheets) to suit various learning styles.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults (school, care, or youth work settings).
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to build quick, trusting rapport with students.
  • Attitude: A patient, " которыми" approach with high levels of empathy and emotional resilience.
  • Compliance: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or a willingness to undergo a new check).
