Would you like to be part of a team that provides the best care for young people aged 13 to 18 and play an instrumental part in their recovery?
EPUT is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialty Doctor to join our dynamic Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at Longview ward based at St Aubyn Centre, Colchester.
St Aubyn Centre provides Tier 4 CAMHS Services only. The unit comprises two distinct services. Longview is a 12 bedded generic adolescent unit commissioned to accept young people (both male and female) from the age of 13 up to 18 years. Larkwood is a 10 bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) for the same age group. Both wards are commissioned by NHS England to provide a resource for young people needing admission to hospital.
The usual catchment area is the county of Essex, but does admit young people from within the Eastern Region and further afield.
This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people experiencing complex mental health challenges. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team including the Consultant, Specialty Doctor, Psychologists, therapists, nurses and social workers to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. The role involves inpatient responsibilities, contributing to assessment, treatment planning, risk management and ongoing therapeutic interventions.
If you join our Trust we will ensure that you are supported and encouraged to pursue professional development interests and we have excellent links with the medical school at ARU and other educational establishments where we have shared appointments in teaching and research.
You should be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment. You will also need to provide evidence of completion core training and demonstrate CT3 competencies in Psychiatry and at least be eligible for ST1-3 post.
