Specialist Subcontractor

A well-established specialist subcontractor based near Earls Colne, Essex is looking to recruit a Graduate or Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their career to gain hands-on experience working closely with experienced commercial professionals on a range of construction projects across the region.

The Role

Working alongside the Commercial Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyors, you will assist in the commercial management of projects from initial enquiry through to final account.

Responsibilities will include assisting with cost control and project financial reporting, supporting the preparation and submission of valuations and applications for payment, helping to manage subcontractor accounts and variations, assisting with procurement of materials and subcontract packages, supporting final accounts and project close-out, and liaising with project managers, site teams, and clients.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be degree qualified or working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction Management (BSc / MSc). Previous placement year, internship, or Assistant QS experience would be desirable but is not essential. You will have strong numeracy and commercial awareness, good communication and organisational skills, and a motivation to develop a long-term career in quantity surveying.

A full UK driving licence is preferred.
