Job Description
Strategic Procurement
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production plans and business objectives
Drive cost reduction initiatives through vendor negotiation, localization, and value engineering
Establish long-term sourcing strategies for critical components (castings, forgings, machined parts, seals, actuators, fasteners, electronics, etc.)
Vendor Management
Identify, evaluate, develop, and approve suppliers as per quality and compliance standards
Lead commercial negotiations, contracts, and rate finalization
Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness
Develop alternate suppliers to reduce supply risk and dependency
Operational Purchasing
Ensure timely procurement of raw materials and components to meet production schedules
Coordinate with Planning, Production, Quality, and Stores for material availability
Oversee purchase orders, delivery schedules, and follow-ups
Resolve supply issues, shortages, and quality rejections with suppliers
Quality & Compliance
Ensure procurement complies with ISO, API, PED, ATEX, and other relevant industry standards
Support supplier audits and quality improvement initiatives
Work closely with Quality Assurance on vendor approvals and corrective actions
Inventory & Cost Control
Optimize inventory levels and working capital
Monitor consumption trends and forecast material requirements
Control purchase budgets and track cost savings
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor the procurement team
Define KPIs and performance metrics for the purchase function
Drive process improvements and digitalization (ERP, vendor portals)
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of valves, pneumatic actuators, and related components
Excellent negotiation and commercial skills
Supplier development and cost optimization expertise
Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities
ERP/MRP system proficiency (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Leadership and cross-functional coordination skills
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (MBA in Supply Chain preferred)
12–18 years of experience in procurement within valve, actuator, or heavy engineering manufacturing
Proven experience managing domestic and international suppliers.
