Power Platform Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced  (5+ Years) Power Platform / Power Apps platform consultant  to work with our internal team to:
• Design and set up Development, QA, and Production Power Platform environments
• Safely align new non-production environments with an existing live Production environment
• Define best practices, standards, and procedures for: o Environment usage o Solution management o Deployment and change control Establish a clear, repeatable ALM operating model that our internal team will own and run after handover The consultant will enable and upskill our team, not operate the platform long-term.

Core Responsibilities:

• Assess the current Production Power Platform environment
• Design a future-state environment strategy (Dev / QA / Prod)
• Configure environments according to Microsoft best practices
• Define and document ALM standards and operating procedures
• Provide knowledge transfer to internal administrators and engineers

Key Responsibilities
1.  Mandatory Technical Experience
Power Platform Environment Architecture
Proven experience designing multi-environment Power Platform landscapes
Hands-on experience creating and configuring: Development environments, QA / Test environments, Production environments).
Experience introducing new environments where Production already contains active, customer-facing apps.
Strong understanding of: (Environment life cycles, Sandbox vs Production behaviour, Managed environments)
2.  Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) Foundations
Deep practical knowledge of Power Platform ALM best practices, including: (Managed vs unmanaged solutions, Solution layering and dependencies, Environment variables, Connection references)
Experience defining promotion paths: (Dev → QA → Production)
Ability to design ALM patterns that: (Minimise risk to Production, support incremental and safe releases, Are maintainable by internal teams)
3 . Safe Environment Alignment
Experience aligning Dev and QA environments to an existing Production environment: (Schema alignment, Solution boundaries, Configuration separation)
Ability to define what must match Production vs what must be isolated
Strong understanding of: (Backward compatibility, Non-breaking changes in Dataverse and apps, Governance & Best Practices Definition)
Standards & Guardrails
Experience defining clear platform standards, including: (Solution structure and ownership, App and flow ownership rules)
Ability to design guardrails rather than restrictions, enabling safe maker activity
Security & Access Model
Strong experience designing: (Role-based access models per environment, Separation of maker, admin, and release permissions.
Knowledge of:(Power Platform security roles, Azure AD / Entra n)
Ability to define least-privilege access patterns
Dataverse & Platform Configuration
Strong understanding of Dataverse configuration relevant to ALM: (Environment settings, Security roles, Schema changes across environments)
Experience defining: (Data handling rules between Dev / QA / Prod , Test data strategies for QA environments
Understanding of backup and recovery concepts (design-level, not operations)
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer (Critical)
Strong ability to produce clear, usable documentation, including: (Environment architecture diagrams, ALM workflows, Deployment procedures, Change and rollback guidance)
Experience delivering: (Workshops, Walkthrough sessions, Hands-on enablement for internal teams)
Emphasis on co-development of standards, not 'drop-and-run' consulting
