The Program Manager will lead the planning, execution, and growth of the Vriksha scholarship program. This role is responsible for ensuring that deserving students are identified, supported, mentored, and guided throughout their academic journey.
The ideal candidate is passionate about education equity, highly organized, empathetic, and capable of building systems that ensure transparency, accountability, and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Scholarship Program Management
Design and oversee the end-to-end scholarship process (application, screening, selection, disbursement).
Develop clear eligibility criteria and evaluation frameworks.
Coordinate timely fee disbursement to colleges and institutions.
Maintain accurate documentation and student records.
Track academic progress and ensure compliance with program guidelines.

2. Student Mentorship & Holistic Support:
Build and manage a structured mentorship program.
Match students with mentors based on academic interests and career goals.
Organize orientation sessions, career guidance workshops, and life skills programs.
Provide emotional and motivational support systems to ensure student well-being.
Create mechanisms for continuous engagement and feedback.

3. Stakeholder Engagement:
Build relationships with colleges, donors, mentors, and community partners.
Act as the primary point of contact for students and families.
Prepare impact reports and updates for stakeholders.
Represent Vriksha at events, meetings, and partner interactions.

4. Fundraising & Resource Mobilization Support:
Assist in donor communication and reporting.
Contribute to proposal development and fundraising initiatives.
Share student success stories (with consent) to strengthen outreach efforts.

5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Measurement:
Develop tracking systems to measure academic performance and retention.
Monitor student progression and graduation outcomes.
Generate periodic impact reports and program assessments.
Identify areas for program improvement and scalability.

6. Administrative & Operational Oversight:
Manage budgets related to scholarships and program activities.
Ensure transparency and compliance in financial processes.
Coordinate with the broader Sharanalayam team for operational alignment.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, Public Administration, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Experience working with youth or scholarship programs is highly desirable.
