Anesthesia Technician

The Anesthesia Technicians provide essential support for anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring their proper function during surgical procedures. They assist anesthesia professionals, maintain equipment cleanliness, and troubleshoot technical issues to guarantee seamless anesthesia delivery. Their responsibilities also include preparing patient monitoring devices, stocking anesthesia carts, and facilitating anesthesia consults.

Job Summary:

• Provides support services for anesthesia equipment and supplies
• Assists professional staff during the provision of anesthesia
• Applies knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies used in the provision of anesthesia for surgery
• Applies basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and principles of growth and development as required to assist in anesthesia preparation/supply selection
• Assists with transport of patients, supplies, and equipment to and from the surgical suites
• Performs routine cleaning of OR suites between cases
• Responsible for preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during, and after anesthesia.
• Sets up anesthesia equipment based on the procedure and anesthesia provider.
• Troubleshoots equipment and works with vendors and biomedical services to assure proper functioning and required maintenance.
• Assists with general maintenance and cleanliness of all equipment in perioperative services as requested.
• Stocks and cleans all carts related to anesthesia.
• Assists anesthesia with procedures based on established competencies.
• Moves anesthesia consults from requestor to completion.
