Staff Accountant

McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South-Central Regions, has an opening for a Staff Accountant.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions to ensure consistency in reporting and compliance with accounting principles.

• Creating and entering journal entries for the monthly financial close process
• Generating financial statements and reviewing for accuracy monthly
• File State Sales and use tax returns
• Completing ad hoc analytical projects and tasks as requested by senior management
• Representative McCoy Construction & Forestry in a professional manner always
• Any other duties as delegated by senior management

• Effective at time-management and balancing competing priorities and projects
• Superior computer skills, especially proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Must be accurate with information and reporting.
• Preferred candidates will possess a 4-year college degree in accounting, finance, or related business discipline
• Previous experience of 1-3 years as a Staff Accountant
• Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage a fast-paced workflow are critical to success in this position
• Ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality
