Position Summary
Hospital radiology technologist operates x-ray equipment in support of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services in the operating room, emergency department and throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Radiology field
- May prepare and administer various chemical mixtures as appropriate to the nature of the procedure being carried out
- Works under immediate supervision
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a college or technical school in Radiologic Technology required
- Current Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
- BLS required
Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and move up to 35 lbs
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Typical equipment used in a clinical job
- Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
- Must be able to push, pull or transport heavy equipment
- Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc.
- Potential exposure to electrical/mechanical harm
