Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll take on a wide mix of building-system design projects. You’ll use mechanical engineering fundamentals to help shape and support architectural concepts, ensuring each building is equipped with efficient heating, cooling, and plumbing systems.

• Reviewing architectural drawings and determining which HVAC and plumbing solutions best fit the project
• Developing mechanical system designs—heating, cooling, and plumbing—that align with the overall building layout
• Applying principles such as thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, materials knowledge, and structural considerations to your design tasks
• Understanding how mechanical systems interact with other engineering disciplines and adjusting designs accordingly
• Using design software to create detailed plans, models, and technical drawings
• Selecting appropriate mechanical equipment to meet the project’s HVAC and plumbing demands
• Creating innovative solutions for system layouts, especially in tight or challenging design environments
• Occasionally assisting operations leadership in pursuing new clients or project opportunities

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
• At least 4 years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building types
• EIT certification required
• PE license preferred, or a strong intention to obtain it soon after joining
• Skilled in REVIT and related mechanical design tools
• Experience coordinating or managing project tasks
• Strong technical understanding of HVAC system design
• Working knowledge of plumbing systems and basic electrical concepts
• Clear, confident communication skills—both written and verbal
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record for occasional travel
