Tax Preparer

Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join a firm in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. This is a contract-to-permanent position within the detail-oriented services industry, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in tax preparation and compliance. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling a wide range of tax returns while ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review individual tax returns (1040), partnership returns, S-Corp and small corporation returns, and trust returns.

- Manage a high-volume workload, overseeing approximately 200 individual tax returns during peak periods.

- Focus on simple to moderately complex tax filings, with a client base that primarily includes personal returns without high-net-worth complexities.

- Examine work papers to verify accuracy, completeness, and compliance with documentation standards.

- Provide constructive feedback and technical guidance to other tax preparers to improve efficiency and accuracy.

- Ensure all completed tax returns align with firm quality standards and regulatory guidelines.

- Collaborate with other reviewers in cyclical review processes to maintain consistency and thoroughness.

- Utilize Lacerte Tax Software to streamline preparation and review processes effectively.

Requirements

- 2-3 years experience in preparing various types of tax returns, including individual, partnership, and corporate filings.

- Strong understanding of tax compliance regulations and standards.

- Ability to manage a high-volume workload with accuracy and attention to detail.

- Proficiency in Lacerte Tax Software or similar tax preparation tools.

- Excellent analytical skills to identify discrepancies and ensure precision in documentation.

- Effective communication skills to provide feedback and collaborate with team members.
