Eye Care for Animals - Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology. Eye Care for Animals - York Rd is looking for a part-time Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.
Location:
Cockeysville, MD.
Schedule:
Part-time, Tuesday - Thursday. As a hospital deeply rooted in the local community, you will experience a genuine local feel with the benefits of Thrive's national resources.
About You:
As a Veterinary Technician, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing comprehensive care throughout their journey. Your work will range from hands-on care such as outpatient treatments and laboratory tests to surgery assistance and support services including admitting and discharging patients. Our staff is comprised of individuals passionate about providing the very best in ophthalmic care to improve the quality of life for our patients.

- Facilitate outpatient treatments and perform laboratory tests
- Assist with surgeries
- Support services including admitting and discharging patients
- Animal handling and pre- and post-operative patient care
- Accurately enter service charges into the client processing database
- Extensive client interaction and communication
- Prepare medications
- Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required
- Licensed Technician preferred, but not required
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections
- Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and using monitoring equipment
- Team player; eager to learn and self-motivated
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.)
Compensation is based on experience and skill set. Compensation negotiable based on credentials with an hourly pay rate starting at $21-$26/hour for non-licensed and $26-$30/hour if licensed. The actual rate offered will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
