Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian Technician to join the team at our successful clinic. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. Responsibilities

Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

Keep accurate patient records

Assist with physical examinations; reviewing care plans and records; drawing up vaccines; maintaining exam rooms; collecting samples; performing laboratory tests; and taking radiographs.

Monitor/care for animals by taking vital signs; administering medications and vaccines; bandage and wound care.

Client education: vaccines, post-operative instructions, and discharges.

Set up for surgeries; assist with surgical induction; monitor patients during surgery and recovery.

- -Maintain the surgery room, instruments, and equipment. Clean and wrap surgery packs. Anesthesia monitoring experience is a plus.

Maintain hospitalized animals by walking, feeding, cleaning cages and equipment, and observing for clinical signs of disease.

  • Maintain animal records by documenting animal conditions, reactions, and changes, updating the database.

Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing script orders, and verifying receipt of various supplies.

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician 1-3 years of experience required

Knowledge of animal care and handling

Excellent communication skills

Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment

Patience and a love for animals
