Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Wireless Intern to be based in Hunt Valley, MD
.
As a Wireless Intern, you will support AECOM’s Technology Solutions Wireless Team by assisting with a variety of wireless‑related tasks within the Technology Solutions Group. This internship provides hands‑on experience in wireless network planning, system integration, and infrastructure optimization enabling you to contribute to projects that enhance connectivity and communication.
This is a part‑time or full‑time intern position. Hours are flexible based on student availability. The position is primarily based in the Hunt Valley, MD office and local client locations within the DMV area.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design and deployment of wireless communication systems, including 4G/5G networks, private LTE/, WiFi, LMR systems, and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).
- Support network planning and optimization for smart cities, campuses, and buildings.
- Conduct research on emerging wireless technologies and trends to inform project solutions.
- Participate in project coordination meetings and provide support for program management tasks.
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the Master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most recent school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required.
- Strong interest in wireless technologies, system integration, and connectivity solutions.
- Familiarity with 4G/5G networks, private LTE/, WiFi, LMR and/or DAS is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Prior working experience in a related field is a plus but not required.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $18 to $22 per hour.
