Overview
St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Cockeysville, seeks candidates for a part-time Faith Formation Associate
. The Faith Formation Associate will be responsible for the oversight and management of the Faith Formation program, as well as for supporting day-to-day activities and providing administrative support for all Faith Formation programs. The Associate reports to the Director of Faith Formation and works collaboratively with the Faith Formation staff and the Catholic Youth Ministry staff. The candidate must be a team player and have strong organizational, administrative and communication skills.
The weekly hours are 10.
- Organize and facilitate the Family Faith Formation program for the parish, overseeing the progress of the families, communication with the families, and maintaining compliance with the Archdiocese of Baltimore's policies and procedures.
- Create Faith Formation yearly calendar.
- Maintain Faith Formation webpage and social media accounts.
- Assist the Director of Faith Formation with the planning, promotion of Saturday Faith Formation gatherings (October-May).
- Be present at Faith Formation gatherings with the Director of Faith Formation.
- Provide support for the sacramental preparation for the First Confession/First Holy Communion and Confirmation.
- Assist the Director of Catholic Youth Ministry with the middle school Faith Formation classes on Monday evenings.
- Assist Office Manager in ensuring compliance with the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Safe Environment requirements for adult/youth volunteers.
- Other duties as assigned and needed by the Director of Faith Formation, Pastor, and Director of Operations.
- Previous experience in Faith Formation preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Catholic Church and Catholic teaching.
- Some college-level study of Catholic Theology or Youth Ministry experience preferred.
- Must be a Practicing Catholic.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
- Displays a positive, professional, and empathetic demeanor to youth, parents, and staff.
- Exhibits loyalty and confidentiality in all working relationships with the parishioners, the pastor, and other contacts.
- Professional and proficient in Microsoft Office, Ministry Platform (ability to be trained), and necessary technology essential for duties required of assignment.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize while meeting deadlines and maintain flexibility.
$18.00 - $20.00, Hourly
