Hours:

3 hours - 7am until 10am preferably however we will allow flexibility on times. Additional hours may be available during school holidays and on an ad-hoc basis.
Purpose of the role
The Yehudi Menuhin School is looking for a Cleaner to work at the Menuhin Hall every Saturday and assist with cleaning and housekeeping in the main school buildings when required.
Job Specification/Key Areas of Responsibility
 
* Regularly clean all areas of the Menuhin Hall.
 
* Clean the kitchen and bar area when required.
 
* Clean/tidy auditorium.
 
* Wipe Clean the tables.
 
* Clean all of the toilets in the hall and change the toilet rolls when necessary.
 
* Hoover and clean the ground floor and upper foyer areas of the Hall.
 
* In the main school buildings, clean bedrooms, change bedding, cleaning staff and student accommodation and classrooms when requested.
Duties listed are not exhaustive; all members of staff are expected to undertake duties reasonably required by the Head.
Person Specification
Experience & Knowledge
 
* Previous experience in cleaning roles (commercial or domestic).
 
* Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
 
* Understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH.
Skills & Abilities
 
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 
* Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
 
* Ability to follow instructions and adhere to schedules.
 
* Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks (e.g. lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
Personal Qualities
 
* Reliable and punctual.
 
* Honest and trustworthy.
 
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
 
* Respectful and professional when interacting with staff and visitors.
Desirable Criteria
 
* Experience in a similar environment (e.g. schools, offices, healthcare).
 
* Basic knowledge of infection control procedures.
 
* Flexibility to work additional hours if required.
