Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver
Location: Coatbridge, ML5
Hours/
Shifts:
45 hours per week, varied shifts to include mornings, evenings and every 2nd Saturday.
Salary/rate: £16.43 per hour plus benefits below
This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business.
Job PurposeTo ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.
Responsibilities- To maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- To have a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
- To report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- To maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
- To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day's work.
- To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- To check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and their safe return to the branch at times instructed by the branch management.
- Ensure damages/breakages are dealt with promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for Hazchem's.
- To maintain a smart appearance at all times.
- To help maintain good customer relations.
- To be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by the Management.
- Meet all Health & Safety requirements.
- A full driving license must be held relevant to the vehicle being driven.
- For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age.
- Whilst we do not ask for a clean licence, we will assess the risk of employing applicants who have points on their licence and this may affect our decision to shortlist.
- Existing employees must update fleet services accordingly with any changes to their license status (e.g. points on their licence, driving bans etc).

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are “essential requirements” of this role.
