3-4m regional business Senior leadership role Long-term stability

If you're a senior geotechnical leader in Scotland who wants real authority, strong financial backing, and a stable platform to build from, this role offers exactly that.

A well-established UK ground investigation contractor is seeking a Regional Manager (Scotland) to take full ownership of its Scottish GI operation - a mature, profitable business with annual turnover of 3-4 million and a secure forward workload.

This is a career-defining senior management appointment, not a stepping-stone role.

Why This Role Will Interest You

  • True regional control - full accountability for performance, people, delivery and growth
  • Commercial influence - ownership of budgets, forecasting, profitability and risk
  • Stability - long-established contractor with repeat clients, strong cash position and consistent workload
  • Career progression - a visible senior leadership position with scope to expand responsibility as the business grows
  • Competitive compensation - salary and benefits package aligned with senior regional accountability, not delivery-only roles

The Opportunity

Reporting to a core business director, you will be responsible for the strategy, leadership and performance of the Scottish Ground Investigation business.

You will lead an established GI team, provide clear direction and commercial discipline, and ensure the region continues to operate safely, profitably and sustainably, while developing capability for future growth.

You will also act as the senior manager responsible for the region's office and depot operations.

Your Key Accountabilities

  • Setting the standard for health, safety and quality, and driving continuous improvement
  • Ensuring safe, profitable delivery of all GI projects across the region
  • Developing and executing regional business plans, budgets and forecasts
  • Producing clear, accurate monthly management and commercial reports
  • Identifying and managing contractual risk and opportunity across live projects
  • Ensuring full contractual entitlement through robust commercial control
  • Overseeing technical, contractual and commercial review of major tenders
  • Leading, developing and retaining a high-performing regional team
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to align regional and group strategy
  • Maintaining safe, efficient operation of the regional office and depot

Who This Role Is Designed For

This position is aimed at experienced professionals who:

  • Are currently operating as a Senior Manager, General Manager or Regional Manager
  • Have a strong background in geotechnical and ground investigation contracting
  • Are comfortable managing a multi-million-pound regional P&L
  • Combine technical credibility with commercial and people leadership
  • Are seeking long-term career security with genuine progression potential

You will bring:

  • Proven senior management experience within the GI / geotechnical sector
  • Strong commercial, contractual and operational capability
  • A degree in Geology, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • The leadership presence to influence at board and client level

Compensation & Career Outlook

  • Attractive senior-level salary, commensurate with regional responsibility
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Long-term role within a stable, well-funded business
  • Clear scope to grow the region and your personal influence over time

If you're ready to step into a role that offers authority, stability and long-term career value, this is a rare opportunity within the Scottish ground investigation market.

All applications and discussions will be handled in strict confidence.
