Job Description
West Dunbartonshire Council is looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and committed to sustaining school improvement and providing high quality learning and teaching, in line with key Council priorities or inclusion and raising the aspirations, achievements and attainment for all students. The role has a start date of August 2026.
Positions- 1st Position – Clydebank High School (Interview will take place 09/03/2026).
- 2nd Position – St Peter the Apostle High School (Interview will take place 10/03/2026, Roman Catholic approval essential).
- 3rd Position – Our Lady's and St Patrick's High School.
Applicants must provide evidence of Catholic Church Approval when submitting their application, and a copy of the Approval should be submitted to the Chair of the Panel prior to the interview. Where pending, confirmation from our Church Representative that the application has been submitted will be sought.
Applicants for permanent posts in a denominational primary school must also have the Catholic Teaching Certificate or Catholic Religious Education Certificate

Applicants for denominational secondary schools must have RC Approval for the school they are applying to.
For all positions, the Head Teachers report template attached to this advert must be completed by the Head Teacher and attached to the application form before the closing date. Please upload the Head Teacher Report in the 'COVER LETTER' section of the application; a cover letter is not required.
ResponsibilitiesThis post is regulated under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007, and membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Prospective candidates will be required to become members of or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer is made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
The employment is exempt from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975, and applicants are not statutorily entitled to withhold spent conviction information. Failure to disclose such convictions may result in dismissal, disciplinary action, or removal from the Register of the General Teaching Council.
