Facilitate the implementation and education of the Glanbia Performance System to ensure that all plant employees have the tools and knowledge to improve and sustain a zero loss work culture that drives out injuries and ensures products are safe and meet quality specifications. Provide leadership to engage the plant in successfully progressing through the GPS phases and ensure delivery of our annual GPS savings goals.
Ensure GPS is fully integrated across organization to create “World Class” facilities.
- Partner with departments and pillars to drive improvements in all plant True North measurements utilizing Focused Improvement, AM, UAM, and other GPS tools and processes.
- Understand the 7 Key Performance Indicator (KPI) areas (Safety, Quality, Sustainability, Productivity, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement).
- Be able to identify and understand losses in the plant through data analysis and lead projects to eliminate the identified losses.
- Ensure projects are completely closed out with sustainability measures in place and all affected employees trained and signed off.
- Create and maintain robust plant communication tools and process across the facility for all GPS activities including daily review boards, measurement boards, team progress boards and charts, etc.
- Support GPS Boot Camp training events and work to develop the expertise, skill, and knowledge necessary to plan and execute boot camp trainings, facilitation, and report‑outs.
- Calculate OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and help others understand biggest equipment losses.
- Foster employee engagement through involvement in improvement teams and use of GPS tools.
- Promote the use of GIFs within the plant and assist employees to drive towards implementation as needed.
- Communicate effectively with all levels in and outside of the plant to achieve stated goals and objectives of projects being worked on.
- Develop training materials and deliver training.
- Organize and present data in effective and approved ways.
- Personally lead teams utilizing GPS processes.
- Lead projects that drive towards annual GPS savings goals.
- Purchasing & inventory of GPS related supplies.
- Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to write routine correspondence and reports.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while dealing with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Ability to teach and train others effectively and facilitate meetings and group discussions.
- Ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to questions before groups of managers or employees.
