Summary: Performs specific patient care procedures (such as, phlebotomy, wound care, gastric and urethral tube insertion and bedside testing) under the direction of a licensed Nurse and/or performs specific support‑procedures for the operation of a Nursing or Clinical Department. Operates patient monitoring systems.

Work Shift: 12 Hour Days (United States of America)

Performs specific patient care procedures (such as, phlebotomy, wound care, gastric and urethral tube insertion and bedside testing) under the direction of a licensed Nurse and/or performs specific support‑procedures for the operation of a Nursing or Clinical Department. Operates patient monitoring systems.

High school or equivalent plus specialized, short‑term training in medical / surgical patient care or the delivery of special care.

One to three years' experience preferred. Receives on-the-job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.

Completion of a PHS Non-Licensed Assistive Personnel course or similar training required prior to entering classification.

Formal medical technician or military training preferred.
