Part Time Associate Veterinarian – Pet Vet Care Centers

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to work part‑time with our experienced veterinary team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about high‑quality veterinary care, have strong communication skills to build lasting client relationships, and collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager. The position is located in the Family Pet Hospital network in Clovis, Fresno, Selma, and Sanger.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
  • Client communication and education
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Pharmacy duties including prescribing and controlled‑substance protocols
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
  • Work with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for hospital operations
  • Monitor cases and attend daily rounds when possible
  • Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications (Required)
  • Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
  • Current State Veterinary License
  • DEA registration obtained and maintained
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Excellent surgical and dental skills
  • Ability to work well in a team‑oriented environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality care
  • Excellent communication skills with Medical and Hospital staff
  • Client communication skills: establish rapport, offer explanations
  • Display confidence and reassurance with stressed, ill, or painful pets
  • Some tasks involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Moderately physically demanding work periodic
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred Skills (Nice To Have)
  • Clinical knowledge and skill in comprehensive examinations and prescribing appropriate treatment
  • Problem‑solving: develop solutions for veterinary hospital management
  • Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff
  • Professionalism: provide and receive constructive feedback within a high‑quality team
  • Business acumen: understand management and finances of the veterinary practice
  • Ethics: knowledge of ethical principles guiding patient decisions
  • Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of learning for others

Salary Overview

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000
Sign‑On Bonus available
