Swim Instructor and Lifeguard - PAID TRAINING

Overview

Goldfish Swim School is looking for part-time Swim Instructors. We offer a set weekly schedule and a growth track to build your skills and achievements. You can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job.

We’re looking for someone who fits our core values – you don’t have to have experience teaching or as a lifeguard (but you do need to know how to swim) and you should have a passion for helping others and a positive personality.

• Ensure you and your team are set up for success at every lesson by preparing class materials and reviewing lesson themes
• Teach 4 swimmers per class by following a well-established curriculum of water safety, swim and swimplay skills; infant classes are 6 swimmers with parent-and-me format. Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and is followed by the next lesson for a 4-hour shift
• Communicate progress and celebrate accomplishments with parents and caregivers at the end of class
• Lifeguard and supervise lessons as requested or needed
• Guide new swimmers through their first days at Goldfish and support them as they progress from mini and junior swimmers to gliders and pros

• A built-in growth track that helps you grow from swim instructor to lifeguard, Golden Teacher, Deck Supervisor and beyond
• Consistent, 4-hour shifts (mostly after school and weekends)
• Flexibility to pick up or add extra hours as a substitute teacher

• Availability for set groups of lessons (no half-shifts or mid-shifts). Scheduled based on set lesson times:
• 4:00–8:00 Monday through Friday
• 8:30–3:30 Saturday
• 8:30–3:30 Sunday
• Arrive 10 minutes before swim lessons start to set up and participate in the pre-shift meeting
• Ability to work the same part-time scheduled days every week (e.g., every Monday 4:00–8:00)
• Patience and genuine engagement with each swimmer; bring your own personality to the lessons
• Strong communication skills with children, parents and team members

Each Goldfish Swim School is independently owned and operated by a franchise. The franchisee is the employer at each location and may set wages, benefits, and terms of employment which may vary by location.
