Picture this: the clock strikes the start of third shift. You gather a crew of machine operators and assemblers around the work cell, switch between English and Spanish with ease, and translate the night’s priorities into clear assignments. You scan the boards, expedite hot work orders, and align everyone to the targets for safety, quality, accuracy, and throughput. As the shift unfolds, you’re on the floor—auditing equipment conditions, resolving bottlenecks with maintenance and engineering, partnering with Quality and Logistics, and updating the ERP so leadership sees reliable numbers in real time.
You coach, you train, you recalibrate the plan, and by shift‑end you’ve hit schedule, trimmed scrap, and closed with a crisp report.
- Guide a production team to hit nightly output while upholding top‑tier manufacturing standards.
- Allocate tasks by workload and priority; adapt assignments as conditions change.
- Oversee line flow for efficiency, quality, and safety compliance; expedite work orders across processes.
- Inspect equipment routinely; elevate issues and coordinate timely fixes with maintenance/engineering.
- Reinforce safety protocols and coach best practices to maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain precise records of quantities, downtime, and material consumption; ensure accurate ERP reporting.
- Onboard new hires and upskill the team on procedures, production techniques, and equipment use.
- Track schedule adherence and communicate status and risks to leadership.
- Collaborate with Quality Control and Logistics to safeguard product integrity and on‑time delivery.
- Continuously seek process improvements to reduce scrap and rework.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (required).
- Demonstrated leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and inventory management.
- Hands‑on experience with production scheduling tools and/or ERP systems.
- Strong people leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Decisive problem‑solver comfortable in a fast‑paced setting.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and perform under pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Manufacturing environment with limited outdoor exposure; equipment includes stamping presses, roll formers, laser cutting, and standard sheet metal fabrication machinery.
- Physical demands: lift up to 50 pounds; repetitive hand use with simple grasping and push/pull up to 50 pounds; standing, lifting, bending, twisting, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching above shoulders, and climbing.
- Direct leadership over machine operators, assemblers, and other production staff.
- Pay ranges from $30–$35/hr based on experience.
