The Role — A Day in Your WorkPicture your day starting with a quick team huddle. You align operators on priorities, allocate work across stamping presses, roll formers, laser cutting stations, and other fabrication equipment, and set safety expectations. As the shift progresses, you walk the production floor, verify quality and throughput, inspect equipment, resolve bottlenecks with maintenance and engineering, and keep a close eye on costs and schedule adherence.
You capture production quantities, downtime, and material consumption, sync with quality control and logistics to ensure smooth flow, and provide timely updates to leadership. Throughout, you coach team members—both new hires and tenured staff—reinforcing best practices and safety.
- Lead and motivate a team of production workers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Plan and distribute daily work based on demand, capacity, and priorities.
- Monitor processes for efficiency, product quality, and safety compliance.
- Conduct equipment walkdowns and inspections; ensure machinery is ready for use.
- Troubleshoot issues and partner with maintenance and engineering to resolve technical problems.
- Champion a safe workplace by implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records for output, downtime, and material usage.
- Onboard and train new team members; provide ongoing skills and safety training for existing staff.
- Drive schedule adherence and communicate frequent status updates to leadership.
- Collaborate with quality control and logistics to keep product moving and customers satisfied.
- Perform other duties as needed to elevate production performance.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Able to speak English and Spanish.
- Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong command of manufacturing methods, production planning, and inventory management.
- Familiarity with production scheduling tools or ERP systems.
- Skilled at leadership, team building, and coaching.
- Decisive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced setting.
- Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Adept at juggling multiple priorities under deadline pressure.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a commitment to quality.
You’ll operate in a manufacturing setting with limited outdoor exposure. Equipment on the floor includes stamping presses, roll formers, laser cutting systems, and standard sheet metal fabrication machinery.
Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds. Frequent repetitive hand use, including simple grasping and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. Role involves standing, lifting, bending, twisting, walking, sitting, squatting, reaching above shoulders, and climbing.
Team StructureThis role directly leads production personnel including machine operators, assemblers, and other production staff.
