Nursing Assistant Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant provides essential support to nursing staff by performing basic patient care duties, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.

Essential Functions

* Perform basic patient care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.

* Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.

* Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation.

* Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, as well as intake and output measurements.

* Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings.

* Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment.

* Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Ability to prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced care setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Experience:

Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility preferred.

Certifications:

CPR/BCLS certification required.
