Essential Requirements
  • Experience supporting children or young people with complex needs
  • Ability to work safely in high-pressured environments, including crisis and de-escalation settings
  • Confident managing behaviours linked to self-harm, suicidal ideation, mental health needs, and challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow care plans and safeguarding protocols
  • Resilience, reliability, and commitment to high-quality care
  • Due to the nature of personal care and safeguarding requirements, this post is restricted to women only. This is an Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 to ensure safe, dignified, and appropriate support
The Role
  • Provide safe, consistent support to children and young people accessing crisis or respite services
  • Deliver person-centred care and emotional support during periods of distress or crisis
  • Assist with daily living tasks, activities, and routines
  • Maintain clear and accurate records in line with service standards
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure stable, structured care for each young person
  • Promote safety, safeguarding, and positive outcomes at all times
