Years 2–4 – Become Part of the Engineering TeamFrom year two, you’ll be based on site, working alongside experienced engineers to develop your practical skills. You’ll gain confidence as you:
- Monitor and maintain plant equipment to ensure smooth and safe operations
- Work to a preventative maintenance schedule, helping keep equipment reliable and efficient
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, learning how to diagnose faults and get machinery back up and running
- Support improvements and modifications, including manufacturing or adapting parts to enhance production performance
This hands‑on experience will give you a deep understanding of how a modern production plant operates—and the essential role engineers play every day.
