The Role

This is a full:time opportunity for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join a forward:thinking department starting at the end of March. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high:quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 involvement. The role requires someone who doesnt just teach formulas but fosters deep mathematical understanding and problem:solving skills.

Requirements
  • QTS/QTLS:
    Valid Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Curriculum Knowledge:
    Familiarity with current GCSE exam board specifications.
  • Right to Work:
    Valid documentation to work in the UK.
  • DBS:
    An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (on the update service) or willingness for it.

Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning:
    Designing schemes of work that challenge and inspire.
  • Instruction:
    Delivering 18:20 hours of high:quality teaching per week.
  • Assessment:
    Regular marking and constructive feedback in line with school policy.
  • Progress Tracking:
    Monitoring and reporting on student achievement levels.

    Exam Prep:
    Equipping Year 11 students with the tools needed for GCSE success.
  • Form Tutoring:
    Taking responsibility for the pastoral care of a designated group.
  • Parental Engagement:
    Attending parents evenings and providing progress updates.
  • CPD:
    Participating in ongoing professional development and staff meetings.
  • Inclusion:
    Differentiating work to support SEND and EAL learners.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Contributing fresh ideas to the Maths department resources.
