1. General Description

1) Support purchasing activities relating to sourcing and services related to Commodity purchasing (Multiple process suppliers) & project development (related to commodity).

2) Ensure purchasing support to supplier quality activities is adequate.

3) Provide guidance to buyers for purchasing related activities.

4) Develop Commodity strategy for supplier improvement.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Replicate roles from Level I & II buyer, plus:
• Create and update cost models for Electronic commodity (PCBA).
• Lead launching activities for suppliers including MRD, Validation, Launching, and overall program timing.
• Lead evaluation and report product cost changes after sourcing through initial production.
• Audit suppliers’ process for cost reduction opportunities and lean manufacturing.
• Independently lead CFT team and/or suppliers during development phase.
• Maintain document records for TS16949, NAFTA, and other customer specific requirements.
• Issue RFQ’s based on sales and program team requirements.
• Review and recommend sourcing plans for new programs and potential re-sourcing of current programs with SL management team.
• Manage documentation for new program tooling and developing costs related to outsourced product.

3. Job Requirements

3-1. Work Experience

5-6 years’ experience in automotive materials or purchasing.

Previous purchasing or materials experience desired, preferably in an automotive environment.

3-2. Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

3-3. Knowledge

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to use various Microsoft based programs and or MRP programs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze complex data.
• Understanding of PCBA electronic products, including product structure, roles, and functions.
• Strong Problem solving ability.
