- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Establish line for each meal period and prepare plates according to resident diets.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking (chopping, peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.).
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before serving.
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen; monitor sanitation procedures for daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Monitor all hot and cold temperature logs daily.
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
- Check quality of ingredients.
- High School Diploma or GED – Serv Safe Preferred.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.).
- Knowledge of cooking temperatures for various types of food (meats, vegetables, desserts, etc.).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- One year cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare, or hospitality setting.
