The salary range for this position is $77,500 to $85,543 and will be based on verified work-related nursing experience as indicated on the candidate s application. This position is eligible for up to $6.25/hour shift differential for applicable shifts. Sign-on bonus for eligible candidates will be distributed after one, six, and twelve months of successful continuous full-time employment.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to individuals in designated units with responsibility for maintaining the nursing needs of the facility in the absence of the Nurse Supervisor. Manage medications and procedures according to pharmacy and nursing procedure guidelines. Document and participate in rehabilitation programs of individuals. Function as the health care coordinator of assigned units with responsibilities outlined in the Health Care Guidelines.
- Assist in planning and providing nursing care with responsibility for the assessment of nursing needs and the initiation of nursing interventions according to all licensing and certification requirements.
- Provide guidance and develop nursing staff to ensure quality activity, care, and treatment for all individuals.
- Assess needs of individuals, identify symptoms of physical or emotional illness, formulate and execute a plan of care, and evaluate outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on the integration of the nursing care plan in the Individual Support Plan (ISP).
- Perform clinical skills in a competent manner and ensure a clean and safe environment. Provide training and acts as a resource for nursing staff.
- Perform and participate in activities as assigned by the Nurse Supervisor.
This position is located at Whitten Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Clinton, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Qualifications- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
- Knowledge of nursing techniques and practices, medical terminology, and ability to adhere to standing orders, policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans; establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of patients; interact in a culturally competent, professional manner.
- Ability to prepare educational and training materials for nursing care programs; knowledge of administrative methods and procedures; communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations and to function as a team member; instruct, supervise and direct the work of paraprofessional staff.
Employment is contingent upon pre-employment screenings: medical screening including a drug screen; background checks (including fingerprinting), Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry screening, Office of Inspector General List of Excluded Individuals/Entities check, driving record check, and transcript review verifying educational credentials. Immunizationand Other Requirements
If the position requires working with consumers of BHDD-OIDD, TB testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers must provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
