What You’ll Do
  • Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:
    Ensure products meet specifications through regular inspections and in-process checks. Take immediate action if something is out of spec, including pulling product, notifying production, or supporting corrective measures. Contribute to continuous improvement by collecting data, reviewing procedures, and keeping documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Food Safety & HACCP Compliance:
    Support the implementation and day-to-day compliance of HACCP plans by monitoring critical control points, verifying records, and ensuring protocols are followed. Identify trends in food safety data and assist in training team members to maintain safe, compliant operations.
  • Regulatory & Sanitation Oversight:
    Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, perform pre-operational sanitation checks, and coordinate resampling and follow-ups. Work with sanitation and QA teams to verify execution and update food safety programs as regulations evolve.
  • Leadership, Training & Coverage:
    Serve as a resource for newer team members, share knowledge of FS/QA processes, and help cover essential tasks or delegate responsibilities to keep operations compliant and running smoothly.
What We’re Seeking
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in meat science, food science, microbiology, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Consideration for currently enrolled college students with anticipated graduation by end of the current school year.
  • Solid knowledge of QA principles, food safety, USDA, HACCP, SSOP; HACCP and SQF certifications preferred.
  • Strong technical expertise in quality and regulatory programs.
  • Able to read, write, and complete required documentation in English.

  • Experienced with monitoring equipment and data interpretation.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and other standard business software.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Office and plant setting with wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Moderate to loud noise in production areas.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision includes close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
