Sampson Regional Medical Center is searching for a Clinical Dietitian to join our Food & Nutrition Services team. DailyResponsibilities
- Attend Interdisciplinary Patient Care Meetings and communicate with appropriate staff as needed to achieve optimal nutritional care.
- Conduct meal rounds to enhance patient satisfaction.
- Check the Food Services tray line and conduct test trays to ensure accuracy and food quality.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.
- Collect data for Quality Improvement monitoring.
- Complete continuing education programs and review literature to remain informed of changes in medical nutrition therapy to improve patient care and performance.
- Offer nutrition education to patients and their families.
- Perform nutrition assessments and screens on patients on, ICU, OB, and Medical Surgical. Initial nutritional assessments and follow-up assessments include anthropometric measurements, biochemical data, medications, and adequacy of nutrition intake.
- Participate in the management and operations of the Food and Nutrition Services department through assisting Director.
- Provide medical nutrition therapy.
- Utilize the nutrition care process to develop individualized care plans.
- Perform other tasks as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition / Dietetics. Master’s degree preferred.
- Member of the Dietetic Association a plus.
- Registered Dietitian license.
- Experience in clinical nutrition.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition counseling.
- Ability to develop care plans based on patient needs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in acute care settings.
- Knowledge of outpatient and pediatric nutrition.
- Background in public health nutrition.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records.
