The Opportunity
An independent, financially strong, near $100M net revenue, 140+ bed, nonprofit, Acute Care Hospital based in Eastern North Carolina is seeking a collaborative finance leader who understands rural healthcare to serve as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The PositionThe Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the hospital and affiliates. The CFO ensures financial sustainability, compliance with healthcare regulations, accurate financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. This role includes oversight of accounting, budgeting, revenue cycle management, purchasing, medical records and financial compliance.
Start date:
ASAP.
- A master’s degree in business administration, Healthcare Administration, or Finance or CPA certification is required.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or related field is required.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive financial management experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a rural hospital.
- Experience with rural hospital models highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare finance regulations including Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and cost reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Proficiency with healthcare financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
