Position: SUMMER CAMP SITE COORDINATOR

Description

Position Summary

The After school Site Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the assigned after school site in partnership with the collaborating school and serves as the primary YMCA contact for school staff and families. This role provides leadership, implements curriculum, ensures a safe and high-quality program experience, and models the YMCA’s core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Essential Functions
  • Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
  • Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
  • Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  • Ensures parents are kept informed of all site and program activities and communicates both positive and negative behavior of children to parents.
  • Conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication.

  • Maintains program site and equipment.
  • Maintains required program records including attendance sheets, incident sheets, and behavior reports; maintains SFSP records.
  • Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
  • Follows and implements the Healthy Eating and Physical Activity standards.
  • Trains new staff on current YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Supervises summer camp counselors; modify the schedule as necessary to maintain appropriate staff to student ratios and remain within budget.
  • Develop relationships community stakeholders to further deepen the YMCA and community relationship.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Regional Youth Services & Athletic Director.
