This role is onsite in Clinton, MO.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading teams, strengthening health information processes, and contributing to quality improvement in a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to inspiring hope and promoting wellness.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily HIM department operations and workflow in partnership with the HIM Director
Provide leadership and guidance to Release of Information staff, including coverage in the Director’s absence
Monitor, reconcile, and manage HIM staff timesheets and time card processes
Conduct routine and random audits of medical records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Assist with subpoena intake and preparation of medical records for court proceedings
Protect patient, provider, and organizational legal and confidentiality rights
Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives and assigned committees
Support departmental goals, strategic initiatives, and other duties as assigned
Royal Oaks – Additional Responsibilities
Select ICD-10 diagnosis codes using official coding guidelines and route discharge diagnoses to providers for review and approval
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations and task completion for direct reports
Complete performance development and AIM processes
Manage staff timekeeping and payroll documentation
Support progress toward departmental strategic plan goals
Education, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
High School/GED required
Associates degree in health information management or related field preferred
WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
At least five (5) years of HIM experience preferred
The emotional ability and maturity to deal effectively with multiple stressors, deadlines, and difficult situations required
Must be proficient with text and data collection/retrieval
Must have understanding of confidentiality issues as they pertain to medical records and release of information
Practical application of appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes for inpatient
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred
Medical Office certificate preferred
