Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position with night shifts, requiring a MD or compact RN license and advanced certifications.
Responsibilities

• Work in a Labor & Delivery unit within a short-term acute care, teaching hospital

• Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30

• Staffed bed count of 338

• Patient ratio of 1:2

• Call required: 24 hours over a 6-week period, with 45-minute onsite response time

• Required to float to like units, such as Mom/Baby, with travelers floating before permanent staff

• Coverage required every other weekend and holiday as needed

• High risk L&D patient population

• Scrubs are provided

• Uses Cerner EMR

• Responsibilities include circulating, fetal heart monitoring, and supporting high risk L&D cases

• May act as preceptor and/or charge nurse when needed

• Must be able to complete required modules pre-start and during orientation

• Holiday and weekend coverage is required as scheduled

• Must be comfortable with schedule flexibility; no set schedules can be guaranteed

• First-time travelers not eligible for this assignment
Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

• At least 1 prior travel assignment required

• Certifications required: AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS, STABLE, NRP, and BLS

• Must register for C-EFM within the first two weeks of assignment; C-EFM through NCC preferred

Skills required:

Circulate, FHM, preceptor and/or charge nurse experience

• Triage experience preferred

• High risk L&D experience required

• Two supervisor references required

• BSN should be included if held

• Not eligible if employed at the facility within the past year

• Must reside outside a 60 mile radius to qualify for travel pay rates
