Plan and instruct rock‑climbing classes. Provide participants with relevant information, deliver efficient service, and instruct all classes within the Association’s guidelines to maintain program quality. Demonstrate a commitment to Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of job performance.

• Lead a class individually, respond to safety and emergency situations, motivate and educate members, set up, move, and store class equipment.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and an engaging personality to connect with participants.
• Develop effective interpersonal relationships with children, parents, and other adults as required for the program area.

• Knowledge of safety rules for the program area.

• Successful completion of the Y of Central Maryland Belay training within 30 days of hire.
• A minimum of one year of rock‑climbing/belay experience strongly preferred.

• First aid and CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.

All Y associates agree to abide by the Code of Conduct with Youth, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for young people. Associates and volunteers must complete child‑abuse prevention training and comply with reporting requirements.
