Job SummaryQuickparts is seeking a dedicated Shipping & Materials Coordinator to oversee shipping and receiving operations while supporting materials handling and inventory management. This role serves as a critical backup for both shipping and materials functions, ensuring cross‑departmental continuity and operational efficiency through effective coordination and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities Shipping Operations- Manage the company shipping queue, coordinating with departments via email and production meetings to provide updates on shipping status.
- Schedule freight orders, create bills of lading, and process Fed Ex Ground / Express, UPS labels, and documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, NAFTA, COO, REACH, ROHS).
- Prepare shipping documents, pack, seal, label, and ensure shipments meet order fulfillment standards.
- Receive and inspect outsourced orders, verifying accuracy against manifests, invoices, and orders.
- Record shipment data including weight, charges, damages, and discrepancies for reporting and record‑keeping.
- Consult with departments to resolve shipping issues such as damages or shortages.
- Assist the Materials Handler and Warehouse Manager with inventory audits, material staging, and stocking procedures.
- Learn materials management processes and software systems to provide backup support as needed.
- Maintain dunnage inventory and generate internal purchase orders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of related experience in shipping, receiving, or materials coordination preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with UPS and Fed Ex shipping platforms.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally; familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
