Overview
Department: Clinical Services
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Travel: Requires daily travel between company locations in response to client needs.
Neu Life Rehabilitation of Michigan provides rehabilitation and residential services for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injuries, and Neurological Disorders.
Position Summary: The Physical Therapist is responsible for helping persons served to improve their physical function, mobility and quality of life.
Primary Responsibilities- Conducts assessments to diagnose person served physical limitations to develop a comprehensive understanding of their conditions.
- Develops individualized treatment plans that outline goals, interventions and expected outcomes.
- Administers physical therapy treatments and exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, coordination and pain management.
- Educates persons served, families and staff about their conditions, treatment options and strategies for self-management and prevention.
- Continuously assess and document person served progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Attend person served team meetings as needed.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Meet the weekly expectation of 28 billable client-facing hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree of Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Licensed Physical Therapist (current license in any state) and willing to obtain Michigan license upon hire
- One year experience in working with developmentally disabled or catastrophically injured individuals, including traumatic brain injury
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize independently
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care
- Empathy and genuine desire to help persons served improve their quality of life
