• Perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education to improve patient well‑being following the established plan of care.
• Follow all state‑specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care, perform only procedures qualified and trained for, and recommend changes in the plan of care to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re‑education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and any changes in the patient’s condition. Coordinate care with other healthcare team members as appropriate.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and other team members in therapeutic areas within the scope of the physical therapy assistant.

Current licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.

Current CPR certification is required.

Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
