CNC Programmer

Treetop Staffing is seeking a CNC Programmer for a direct hire opportunity with a well-established aerospace manufacturing organization located in Clifton, New Jersey. This position is responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining CNC programs used to machine precision aerospace components in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience programming CNC machines in aerospace or precision manufacturing and a strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and quality standards.

• Develop, validate, and maintain CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi-axis machining centers
• Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and GD&T in accordance with aerospace standards
• Create machining strategies that account for casting variability while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances
• Select tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies suitable for aerospace alloys and critical components
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) processes in accordance with AS9102 requirements
• Participate in process validation activities including capability studies (Cp/Cpk) when required
• Maintain program documentation, revision history, and configuration control records
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve machining issues and implement corrective actions
• Support internal and external quality audits
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory procedures

• Develop machining programs for near-net shape investment castings with variable stock allowances
• Account for casting tolerances, distortion, and metallurgical considerations
• Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams regarding casting defects such as porosity or inclusions
• Ensure critical features meet engineering and customer specifications

This position may involve access to export-controlled technical data. Candidates must be U.S. Persons as defined by U.S. export control regulations (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under U.S. law), unless proper authorization is obtained.

• Associate degree or higher in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred

• 3–5+ years of CNC programming experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
• Experience machining cast components strongly preferred
• Experience working in AS9100-certified manufacturing environments preferred

• Proficiency with CAM software such as Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360, or similar
• Strong understanding of GD&T and aerospace drawing interpretation
• Experience with 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining
• Knowledge of aerospace materials such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel-based alloys
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and digital travelers
• Understanding of process validation and statistical process control (SPC)
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machining equipment, metal chips, coolant, and temperature variations
• Must comply with all safety and PPE requirements
