Paramedic – Polk County, TN
. Will pick up as needed at Benton Station or Copperhill Station. EMS Service line: 911. FTE:
Part time. Shift(s) availability: 24-hr shifts. Requires 1 shift/week.

Certification/Licensure Requirements
  • TN Paramedic certification in good standing
  • Current National Registry certification {if required by state}

  • Ventilator certified every three (3) years
  • FEMA IS certs: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
Job Description:

Summary

Primary job is to function as a Paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance. When time allows, responsible for the daily supervision of EMS field operations in the absence of senior management. Ensures adequate zone coverage, compliance, and serves as Ameri Pro EMS’ liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
  • Supervises day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management
  • Ensures field employees have the required equipment to perform essential duties
  • Serves as liaison for field staff to Training, CQI, Payroll, Human Resources, Billing, and Communication
  • Prepares appropriate reports in the absence of senior management (mechanical breakdowns, accidents, exposures, daily shift activities, incidents)
  • Ensures adherence to Ameri Pro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards
  • Ensures adherence to Patient Care Protocols
  • Evaluates performance, maintains attendance, and supports professionalism
  • Monitors deployment and efficiency; makes decisions on IFT, Mutual Aid, and out-of-town trips in absence of Senior Management
  • Manages day-to-day scheduling needs
  • Ensures TEFs are turned into Operations Supervisor
  • Delivers RTF paperwork to employees on duty and forwards to administrative staff
  • Ensures daily duties (truck cleaning, station duties, check-offs) are performed
  • Acts as first contact for OJIs, complaints, accidents; initiates initial investigations
  • Completes daily shift report detailing activities
  • Leads and provides training for new employees and students
  • Performs duties in line with cost effectiveness and operational goals
  • Responds to scenes with crews and assumes command during Mass Casualty Incidents until relieved
  • Attends planning meetings
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrates ability to lift and move patients safely
Qualifications Paramedic Job Qualifications

REQUIRED Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years EMS experience preferred
  • State Paramedic license in good standing / current NREMT if required by state
  • Current CPR: BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Successful background check and drug screening
  • Strong people skills and ability to collaborate
  • Proficient verbal and written communication in English
  • Ventilator certified every three years
  • Successful completion of written and practical exams
  • FEMA IS certs: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous paramedic or similar medical role experience
  • Additional certification/training: AM LS, PHTLS, ATLS
  • Technology proficiency
Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of EMS techniques and local protocols
  • Ability to read maps and navigate
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in emergency situations
  • Ability to read medical terminology and prepare reports
  • Proficiency with PCR reporting, email, and MDT applications
  • Professional representation of Ameri Pro EMS
Physical Requirements

Regularly required to use hands, stand, walk; frequently lift up to 180 pounds and occasionally up to 300 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Working Environment

EMS care environment with exposure to inclement weather, hazardous conditions, stress, and irregular schedules. Occasional meetings outside regular hours.
