Overview

Patient Access Specialist:
Greeting patients when answering calls, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and explaining financial responsibilities.

• Knowledge of insurance procedures, prior authorizations, and revenue cycle impact.
• Medical office experience a must. eCW EMR experience a plus.
• Understanding of payer medical policy guidelines.
• Proficiency in data entry, typing, and utilizing computer systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume workload.
• Professional and compassionate demeanor.
• Strong communication abilities (verbal and written).
• Calm and competent response in stressful situations.

• Patient Registration: Greet and register patients, obtaining demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, and assist with pre-certifications/authorizations.
• Collecting: Pre Collecting Money as needed
• Explaining billing procedures and payment options to patients.
• Maintain and Document Benefits and authorizations in currnet EMR.
